The Taliban’s police command in Jowzjan province has announced that a young man was killed by gunfire in Sheberghan city, the provincial capital. According to the security authority, the incident occurred on Wednesday, 31 Saratan (July 22), in the Dasht-e Baba Ali area of Sheberghan.
Abdul Sattar Halimi, spokesperson for the Taliban police command in Jowzjan, said that the young man, identified as “Parwiz,” was shot dead by one of his relatives with a shotgun while he was out for a walk.
According to the Taliban police spokesperson, four residents of the Afsharkhana area, which falls under the third police district of Sheberghan city, have been arrested in connection with the incident. He added that an initial investigation has begun and that the detained individuals are currently under questioning.
The Taliban police command has so far not provided details regarding the cause or motive behind the killing. The authority said that investigations are ongoing to clarify the circumstances surrounding the case.
