Turkish media have reported that around 20,000 Afghans have received work visas for the livestock and animal husbandry sector in Turkey.
According to the Turkish newspaper Yeni Şafak, a number of Afghan workers have officially gone to Turkey to work in the livestock sector, and they are expected to start their jobs after completing the necessary legal documents and insurance.
The report states that this program was launched to address the shortage of labor in Turkey’s livestock sector and will continue in coordination with the relevant authorities.
In recent years, many Afghans, due to economic difficulties and unemployment, have tried to travel to other countries legally or illegally in search of work. Turkey is among the countries that employ foreign labor in certain sectors.
Earlier, Sadın E. Yıldız, the Turkish Chargé d’Affaires in Kabul, stated in a meeting with Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, the Taliban Minister for Refugees and Returnees, that Ankara is trying to find solutions to prevent illegal migration and has issued work visas to 20,000 Afghans solely in the livestock sector.
