News sources have reported the arrest of Todd Adam Baker, a 44-year-old U.S. citizen, in the city of Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of Afghanistan’s Balkh province. According to the reports, Taliban forces raided his residence on the evening of Friday, July 17, and took him into custody.
The sources said that no information has yet been released regarding Baker’s physical condition or place of detention, and further details about the circumstances of his arrest remain unavailable.
The sources also claimed that Baker, who had been engaged in business activities in Afghanistan for approximately 10 years, was arrested on allegations of promoting Christianity. However, Taliban authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the reports or the alleged charges.
