Afghanistan’s national futsal team departed Kabul for Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, on Wednesday, 7 Asad, to participate in the Continental Futsal Championship. The tournament will feature five teams from three continents.
According to reports, Afghanistan’s national players traveled to Thailand on a direct Kabul–Bangkok flight. This marks the team’s first international appearance since recent changes were made to its coaching staff.
Following their arrival in Bangkok, the players are scheduled to hold a light training session before beginning their official preparation program for the Continental Futsal Championship.
The Continental Futsal Championship will begin on August 1, with the participation of Afghanistan, Russia, Vietnam, New Zealand, and hosts Thailand.

Afghanistan vs. Russia: August 2 (11 Asad), 6:00 p.m.
Afghanistan vs. Vietnam: August 3 (12 Asad), 9:00 p.m.
Afghanistan vs. Thailand: August 5 (14 Asad), 9:00 p.m.
Afghanistan vs. New Zealand: August 6 (15 Asad), 6:00 p.m.
The tournament will serve as the first official test for Serbian head coach Dejan Dedović, who recently took charge of Afghanistan’s national futsal team. He assumed the role following the departure of Majid Mortazavi and hopes to strengthen the team’s technical structure and performance by drawing on his international experience.
