Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming five-match One Day International (ODI) series against Ireland. Under the new decision, Rahmat Shah will lead the side as captain, with Rahmanullah Gurbaz serving as vice-captain.
The 15-Member Squad:
Rahmat Shah (C), Rahmanullah Gurbaz (VC), Ibrahim Zadran, Sediqullah Atal, Hashmatullah Shahidi, Darwish Rasooli, Azmatullah Omarzai, Ikram Alikhil, Nangeyalia Kharote, Rashid Khan, AM Ghazanfar, Yamin Ahmadzai, Saleem Safi, Fazalhaq Farooqi, and Zia-ur-Rehman Sharifi.
Additionally, Qais Ahmad, Fareed Ahmad Malik, Bilal Sami, and Bashir Ahmad have been named as reserve players.
The five-match ODI series is scheduled to kick off on August 5 in Bready. The second match will take place on August 7 at the same venue, while the remaining three matches will be played in Belfast on August 10, 12, and 15.
This will be the first ODI series in which Rahmat Shah leads Afghanistan as the new ODI captain. He was appointed by the ACB as the ODI and Test captain following the resignation of Hashmatullah Shahidi.
