Former Afghan Vice President Ahmad Zia Massoud stated in an article that the Taliban represent the last and most evident example of an ethnic-based government in Afghanistan. He said that forming a government based on a single ethnicity poses a serious threat to national unity and political stability.
Massoud warned that supporting and maintaining ethnic-based governments ultimately leads to national disintegration, political instability, and deepening of the ongoing crisis in the country. According to him, Afghanistan needs a system that guarantees representation for all ethnic groups and social classes.
He emphasized that the continuation of exclusive and ethnic politics will bring even more problems and divisions to the country.
