Local sources in Nimroz Province say that the body of Mohammad Yousuf, a 28-year-old man, was found in the Dasht area of Zaranj, the provincial capital, six days after he went missing.
According to the sources, Mohammad Yousuf disappeared about six days ago while traveling from Zaranj city toward the village of “Maliki.” No information about his whereabouts had been available since then.
The sources said that the young man’s body was found in the Dasht area of Zaranj on Thursday evening, 22 Asad, and was handed over to his family.
The sources also confirmed that Mohammad Yousuf was brutally murdered. However, no further details have so far been released regarding the circumstances of the killing or the identities of any suspected perpetrators.
As of the publication of this report, local authorities in Nimroz Province had not issued an official statement regarding the incident or the investigation into the young man’s murder.
The incident comes amid reports in recent months of criminal incidents and mysterious killings in parts of Afghanistan, raising growing concerns about the safety and security of citizens and families.
