CNN, citing sources close to the mediation process, has reported that mediators in Pakistan expect Iran to present a revised proposal for ending the war in the coming days. This report follows the announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump that he would not accept the previous version of the proposal.
According to the report, the mentioned sources said that Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, after his trip to Russia, was supposed to return to Tehran today. They indicated that he is expected to have discussions with the decision-makers of the Islamic Republic regarding the recent developments upon his return.
CNN also claimed that Donald Trump rejected the earlier version of Iran’s proposal, which had been presented late last week.
According to the media, the previous plan proposed by Iran called for an initial ceasefire, followed by the resolution of more difficult issues related to Iran’s nuclear program in the next phase.
As of the publication of this report, official authorities in Iran and the United States have not publicly responded to the details of this claim.
