The Deputy Minister of Information and Culture of the Taliban for Publications, Mohajer Farahi, has said regarding recent drone attacks on Pakistan that the Taliban’s military targets are “precise and clear,” and that civilians are not targeted during operations.
Farahi wrote on his X account on Wednesday that their strikes have accurately hit designated targets and that the Taliban are striving to focus only on primary objectives. According to him, even in the most difficult conditions of war, they observe Islamic principles and ethics and do not target women and children.
He added that during their military operations, the Taliban take calm, calculated, and measured steps, and believe in the legitimacy of their operations and in divine support.
Farahi’s remarks come amid recent reports of an increase in drone attacks on Pakistan. The Taliban have claimed that they carried out drone strikes on several Islamic State (ISIS) positions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, inflicting casualties.
On the other hand, the Pakistani military has also confirmed in a statement that drone attacks were carried out by the Taliban, but it has not provided details regarding the extent of the damage or other specifics. So far, independent sources have not separately verified these claims.
