Floods in Mandol district of Nuristan province have caused severe financial losses for local residents.

Severe floods caused by heavy rainfall have inflicted extensive financial losses on residents in various areas of Mandol District in Nuristan Province.

According to local residents, so far six residential houses, an electricity network, a watermill, a culvert, roads, agricultural lands, and orchards have been damaged or destroyed.

Reports indicate that the floods have affected residents of Bandol, Anish, Iskando, Mangor, Janakhel, Shakarnal, Nalo, Atrarah, and several other areas.

Local sources say that no casualties have been reported so far as a result of the natural disaster; however, the financial losses are significant. Affected residents stated that they have not received any emergency assistance from the Taliban authorities to date.

Meanwhile, local Taliban officials in Nuristan have not yet issued any official statement regarding the floods or the extent of the damage caused.
