Five members of a family have been killed after a house collapsed in Jalalabad, the capital of Nangarhar Province.
Sediqullah Quraishi, the head of information at the Taliban’s Information and Culture Department in Nangarhar, said the incident occurred on Thursday evening (July 23) in the “Afghan Mina” area of Jalalabad.
According to him, the house collapsed due to rainfall and structural deterioration. As a result, five members of the same family, including a father and his sons, were killed, while another person was injured.
Rainfall and flooding across several provinces yesterday caused significant casualties and extensive property damage. So far, reports indicate that one person has died in Laghman Province and six others have been injured there.
Severe flooding has also led to the destruction of roads and major highways.
