In a statement released following an attack on Sana'a International Airport, Houthi spokesman Mohammed Abdulsalam accused Saudi Arabia of maintaining its blockade on Yemen. He stated that the attack demonstrates that the reopening of Sana'a airport remains dependent on decisions made by Saudi officials.
Abdulsalam further asserted that despite issuing statements claiming support for Yemen's sovereignty, Saudi Arabia in practice pursues an approach that he described as similar to tactics used by Israel during its military conflicts.
The Houthi spokesman went on to accuse Saudi Arabia of falsehood, arrogance, hostility, and aggressive actions, claiming that Riyadh’s policy toward Yemen continues to be rooted in pressure and confrontation.
Abdulsalam also stated that the blockade on Yemen persists with Saudi support, alleging that after what he described as a failed eight-year war, the kingdom is now attempting to achieve its objectives through economic pressure.
He warned that Saudi Arabia had made a miscalculation, positioning itself as an explicit enemy of Yemen, and that continuing this approach could carry serious consequences for the kingdom's security and economy.
Concluding his statement, Abdulsalam emphasized that the naval blockade represents only the first step in a confrontation between the siege and retaliatory action, asserting that the Yemeni people will use every necessary means to secure their rights.
