According to a report by Reuters, a senior Iranian official has stated that Tehran will not attack U.S. military bases unless the United States initiates military strikes against Iran.
The official warned that if Washington launches attacks, Iran will respond with a severe and extensive military reaction.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump has postponed a decision on potential airstrikes against Iran in order to provide an opportunity for diplomacy.
Additionally, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz has confirmed that President Trump continues to prioritize negotiations as a means of resolving the crisis.
