Summary

Taliban Minister of Higher Education Neda Mohammad Nadeem, speaking at the graduation ceremony of 925 students from Sheikh Zayed University in Khost, urged students and Taliban officials not to disobey the orders of the Taliban leader (referred to as the “Amir al-Mu’minin”) and to carry out their duties with the intention of worship.

Nadeem congratulated the graduates and their families, stating that favorable conditions for education have been created under the current system. He claimed that all decisions made by the Taliban government are based on Islamic Sharia and the Quran.

According to him, every official should view their duties as an act of worship, obey the instructions of the leader, and refrain from disobedience. He also called on graduates to serve in their professional fields with honesty, integrity, and sincerity, while remaining committed to their religious values.

During the same ceremony, Khost Governor Mawlavi Abdul Rahman Haqqani said that religious and modern education are both necessary and complementary. He claimed that the Taliban place special importance on modern education.

A total of 925 students from various departments of the 11 faculties of Sheikh Zayed University graduated during the ceremony.

These remarks come as the Taliban continues to make changes within its administrative structures. Recently, the group has begun replacing the term “national” with “general” in official institutions, while some decisions regarding appointments to key government positions have also faced criticism.
