Possibility of heavy rainfall in eastern and southeastern Afghanistan.

The Meteorological Department of the Taliban’s Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has issued a warning about the possibility of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and lightning, strong winds, and sudden flooding in 10 provinces.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, 30 Saratan (July 22), the department said that on Wednesday, the provinces of Nuristan, Kunar, Laghman, Nangarhar, Logar, Maidan Wardak, Paktia, Khost, Paktika, and Ghazni would be at risk of severe weather conditions.

According to the department’s forecast, rainfall in these areas is expected to range between 10 and 35 millimeters.

The Meteorological Department also warned of the possibility of strong winds accompanied by dust storms in several central, eastern, southeastern, southern, and western parts of the country. Wind speeds are expected to reach between 50 and 100 kilometers per hour.

Authorities have urged residents to take precautionary measures during periods of heavy rain, flooding, and strong winds, particularly those living near rivers and streams.
