Zabihullah Amiri, the head of Information and Culture of the Taliban in Badakhshan, has stated that Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, the leader of the group, has established a high-level commission to examine and address the issues of Badakhshan province.
According to him, Abdul Haq Wasiq, head of Taliban intelligence, Fasihuddin Fitrat, Chief of Army Staff, Shamsuddin Shariati, head of the Monitoring and Enforcement of Decrees Department, Amanuddin Mansoor, governor of Paktika, and several other Taliban officials constitute the members of this commission.
Ibrahim Sadr, the Deputy Minister of Interior of the Taliban, is also included in the composition of this body. The delegation held a meeting on Tuesday in Fayzabad, the capital of Badakhshan province.
Ismail Ghaznawi, the Taliban governor of Badakhshan, is not included in the list of commission members. However, Zabihullah Amiri stated that members of the commission also met and held discussions with the governor during their visit.
According to the head of Information and Culture of the Taliban in Badakhshan, the group’s leader has tasked the commission with reviewing all existing issues in the province and submitting a final report to Kandahar.
Amiri added that all matters and challenges in Badakhshan, including issues related to mining, will be examined within the framework of this commission’s activities.
Meanwhile, Zabihullah Amiri stated that Jumma Khan Fatah, former deputy governor of Zabul, has been proposed to head one of the intelligence branches in Kabul.
According to him, Jumma Khan Fatah has accepted the proposal and is expected to travel to Kabul in the near future to begin his new assignment.
However, Jumma Khan Fatah has not yet made any official statement regarding this matter.
The Taliban leader has recently dismissed Jumma Khan Fatah from his position as deputy governor of Zabul and appointed Fayzullah Tamim, the former head of the Standards and Quality Authority, in his place.
