Governors, police chiefs, intelligence officials, and heads of military courts from five northwestern provinces under Taliban administration gathered in Balkh for their eighth joint coordination meeting to review security, administrative, and governance matters.
According to the Taliban press office in Balkh Province, the meeting was chaired by the Governor of Balkh, Mullah Mohammad Yousuf Wafa. Governors from Sar-e Pol, Jawzjan, Samangan, and Faryab, along with the deputy commander of the 209th Al-Fath Corps and heads of northwestern military courts, also attended the session.
Mufti Hafizullah Mohammadi, head of the Taliban military court in the northern zone, stated that the shared responsibility of officials in preserving the Islamic system is serving the public, building trust among citizens, and narrowing the gap between the public and government institutions.
Additionally, Mawlawi Fazl Rabbi Fazli, Chief of Staff to the Balkh Governor, presented a report on the implementation of decisions from the previous meeting, noting that new subjects concerning seven zones were also introduced for discussion during this coordination session.
Balkh Governor Mullah Mohammad Yousuf Wafa highlighted the importance of such meetings for strengthening administration, enforcing Hibatullah Akhundzada's decrees, addressing public grievances, combating narcotics, assessing the security situation, and enhancing inter-provincial coordination. He urged participants to clearly raise their shortcomings and challenges so that collective decisions could be made to resolve them.
This marks the eighth coordination meeting of northwestern officials, which, according to the Taliban administration, is held to streamline security and administrative affairs among the respective provinces.
The meeting took place amid recent armed attacks launched by armed opposition groups against Taliban forces in parts of Badakhshan province.
