The Taliban’s Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, through its Meteorological Department, has issued a warning that heavy rainfall and the risk of flash floods are expected on Monday (July 27/5 Asad) in the provinces of Nuristan, Kunar, Nangarhar, Paktia, Khost, and Paktika.
According to the department’s forecast, rainfall in these provinces is expected to range between 10 and 25 millimeters. In addition, strong winds with speeds of 50 to 90 kilometers per hour are forecast across the country’s central, eastern, southeastern, and western provinces.
The warning comes as the Taliban’s National Disaster Preparedness Authority reported that heavy rains and flooding over the past week affected 15 provinces, leaving 34 people dead, 29 others injured, and 4,462 families impacted.
