In the Ghor province , in the Zardabi Bazaar area, a clash has occurred between local residents and the Taliban over the collection of a rare mountain plant known as “Wosha” and “Oshaq.”
According to local sources, the tension began when a number of individuals affiliated with the Taliban from Helmand province arrived in the area to collect this plant. Reports indicate that local residents opposed their activities, and as a result, the verbal dispute escalated into a violent confrontation.
Sources add that Taliban armed forces subsequently opened fire on people in an attempt to disperse the protesters. Initial information suggests that civilians have suffered casualties in the incident, but precise figures and the identities of the victims have not yet been officially confirmed or released.
So far, the Taliban have not issued an official statement regarding the incident; however, local residents say that disputes over the collection of this plant and control of the region’s natural resources are increasing.
