In the Kamir area of Sahiwal District in Pakistan’s Punjab Province, police have arrested three clerics in connection with an alleged sexual assault case involving a child.
According to police, after receiving a video and a report regarding the incident, Sahiwal District Police Chief Muhammad Usman Teepo ordered immediate investigations and legal action. Based on the registered case, the individuals identified as Maulvi Umar Hayat, Hafiz Sanwal, and Ahmad have been arrested.
Police said that transparent and impartial investigations into all aspects of the case are underway, and relevant evidence is being collected to establish the full facts of the incident.
The Sahiwal District Police Chief has also ordered that the affected child be provided with full legal protection. If the allegations against the arrested individuals are proven through the investigation, they will be presented before the court in accordance with the law.
