Two mosques built at a combined cost of approximately 65 million Afghanis have been completed and inaugurated in areas of Zabul and Maidan Wardak provinces along the Kabul–Kandahar highway.

The first mosque, located in the Sayadabad district of Maidan Wardak province, was constructed at a cost of 32.5 million Afghanis on a three-jerib plot of land. It has the capacity to accommodate 170 men and 130 women for prayer at the same time.

Another mosque for travelers along the Kabul–Kandahar highway in Zabul province was also constructed and opened at a cost of approximately 33 million Afghanis.

Mawlawi Mohammad Ismail Ghaznawi, Deputy Minister of Public Works, said the ministry also plans to construct 14 mosques for travelers along the Kabul–Herat highway, with one mosque to be built every 70 kilometers.

In addition to prayer areas, both mosques are equipped with ablution facilities, residential rooms for the imam and muezzin, parking areas, and water and electricity systems.
