The U.S. military announced that forces from the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) successfully concluded the thirteenth consecutive night of operations against military targets of the Islamic Republic in the early hours of Thursday, July 24, Tehran time, corresponding to 9:00 p.m. ET on July 23, 2026.
According to a U.S. military statement, the operation targeted military command centers, drone storage facilities, communications networks, coastal surveillance sites, and the Islamic Republic’s maritime capabilities. The statement said the strikes were intended to reduce threats that, according to the United States, the Islamic Republic poses to civilian mariners and commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
The U.S. military also stated that, despite recent attacks by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the Strait of Hormuz remains open to maritime traffic, and commercial vessels continue to transit the international waterway freely with the support of U.S. forces.
The statement concluded by noting that more than 50,000 U.S. military personnel are currently deployed across the Middle East and continue to carry out their missions.
