The leader of the Awami National Party, Aimal Wali Khan, has once again stated that, in his view, the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM), the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are similar. He claimed that the leaders of the PTM use the name of the great nonviolent activist Bacha Khan for their personal interests.
Aimal Wali Khan has made similar remarks in the past, but so far, the PTM leaders have not responded directly to his statements.
In recent weeks, many members of the Awami National Party have increased their criticism of the PTM. Meanwhile, senior PTM members have asked their supporters to remain silent regarding these statements and actions by the Awami National Party.
Additionally, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, which currently holds power in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has not issued any official response to Aimal Wali Khan’s recent comments.
