In Paris, the capital of France, due to a severe heatwave, police have cancelled or postponed the annual Pride march as well as several other public gatherings and events. Authorities say the decision was made to ensure public safety and protect people’s health.
The Paris Pride march, which is held every year in the final week of June and attracts tens of thousands of participants, has been postponed this year from Saturday to September.
Police have also cancelled the annual Solidays music festival and athletics competitions at the Charléty Stadium.
