Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesman for Iran’s ministry of foreign affairs, has identified the United States and Israel as the primary culprits behind the current global situation.
Tasnim news agency reported on Thursday, July 30, that Baghaei made these remarks in response to recent comments by UN secretary-general António Guterres regarding the disregard for international law.
Addressing the UN secretary-general, Baghaei stated: "Why do you refrain from condemning those who have provided absolute impunity for the perpetrators of genocide and war crimes?"
Referring to António Guterres's remarks on the spread of impunity and the preference for military solutions, Baghaei criticized him for failing to name the US and Israel as the "main perpetrators."
These statements come as tensions between Iran and the United States have escalated in recent months over the nuclear program, sanctions, and Washington's support for Israel.
