The Al Jazeera network reported on Tuesday, June 16, citing Majid Takht-Ravanchi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, that this agreement is being pursued within the framework of recent talks between Tehran and Washington.

According to the report, negotiations between Iran and the United States will begin after the signing of a memorandum of understanding on Friday in Geneva, Switzerland, and the two sides will enter a new phase of consultations.

Takht-Ravanchi stated that the Iranian delegation, headed by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, and the American delegation, led by J.D. Vance, the Vice President of the United States, will participate in this process.

He also noted that Switzerland will host the signing of the agreement, although the exact location of the ceremony has not yet been finalized. According to him, the next round of talks will begin immediately after the agreement is signed.

Based on the report, Iran and the United States have held discussions in recent weeks mediated by Pakistan, and as a result of these negotiations, have reached an agreement to end the war.
