Iranian border security forces have killed 6 armed militants along the Afghanistan–Iran border.

Iranian media have reported that in areas of Zabol County in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, at least six armed individuals who intended to enter Iranian territory and attack a military base were killed by security forces.

Ali-Akbar Javdan, commander of Iran’s border guard forces, stated that the armed group attempted to cross into Iranian territory on Friday evening but encountered resistance from border guard units. According to him, following a heavy exchange of fire and intense clashes, all of the assailants were killed.

Javdan further added that security forces recovered and confiscated a number of weapons and ammunition from the deceased individuals.

It is worth noting that Zabol County in Sistan and Baluchestan Province shares a border with the Nimroz Province of Afghanistan.
