Summary

The launch event for the book “Which Afghanistan?” accompanied by a series of specialized discussions, was held in Berlin, initiated by the Bakhtar Research and Educational Institute.

This event took place at Café Diwan in Berlin, with the participation of academics, experts, journalists, and members of civil society. The goal of the event was to create a platform for academic, specialized, and non-political discussions about Afghanistan’s future.

During the program, Sakhi Biramali, the author of the book and one of the speakers, emphasized the importance of citizen-centered dialogues. He stated that holding such events can help increase the participation of younger generations in discussions related to the country’s future and added that without this type of dialogue, solving Afghanistan’s major challenges will remain difficult.

Which Afghanistan?, recently published in English by Khayyam Publishing in Brussels, examines Afghanistan’s past and present in eleven chapters, comparing it with other countries and providing viewpoints on how to overcome the current crises.

The organizers announced that this series of discussions will continue later this year in other cities, including Brussels, Amsterdam, Riyadh, London, Istanbul, Ottawa, and Washington, D.C.

Additionally, the results and summaries of these discussions will be published in the future to be used as part of efforts to strengthen constructive debates about Afghanistan’s future.
