A two-day conference on the future of Afghanistan’s Turkmen community was held in Cappadocia, Türkiye, bringing together a number of Turkmen students, women, civil society representatives, and academics from Afghanistan. The conference focused on discussing scientific and practical perspectives and strategies for the future of the community through 2050.
The conference was held on the sixth and seventh of Sunbula. During the event, participants emphasized the need to strengthen academic, educational, and civic initiatives for Afghanistan’s Turkmen community. They also called for expanding such programs both inside and outside Afghanistan, with a particular focus on harnessing the potential of the younger generation.
Speakers at the conference identified education and the active participation of young people as key factors in shaping the future of Afghanistan’s Turkmen community. They stressed the importance of creating appropriate opportunities for the academic and social development of young people and increasing their role in civic activities.
The conference was organized at the initiative of the Turkmen Youth Organization of Afghanistan and the United Turkestan Ambassadors Association, with cooperation from the International Turkic Culture Association of the Republic of Türkiye.
