The head of the Religious Scholars’ Council of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, responding to reports alleging that the Islamic Republic of Iran opposed the initiation of military clashes against the Taliban, stressed that the front would not seek permission from any party when making decisions regarding war against the Taliban.
Mawlawi Hissam, head of the Religious Scholars’ Council of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, wrote in a message published on his Facebook page: “We do not seek permission from anyone to wage war against the Taliban.”
In his remarks, he did not name any specific country or party; however, the statement came at a time when recent reports in some media outlets suggested that the Islamic Republic of Iran had opposed any military action against the Taliban.
Some political observers believe that the timing of the message alongside these reports could be interpreted as an indirect response to the issue. However, no official clarification has yet been provided by Mawlawi Hissam in this regard.
In recent weeks, several media outlets and informed sources have reported efforts by certain regional countries to prevent the escalation of tensions and armed conflict in Afghanistan.
