Mullah Shirin, the Taliban’s governor of Kandahar, has urged deputy district governors from the province’s 19 districts to uphold obedience, coordination, good conduct toward the public, and to focus on shaping and educating the minds of young people.
According to a statement released on Sunday by the Taliban’s media office in Kandahar, Mullah Shirin emphasized during the meeting that district officials should carry out their assigned responsibilities diligently and maintain appropriate conduct in their dealings with the public.
The statement quoted Mullah Shirin as saying: “I am the representative of the Amir al-Mu’minin in this province, and you, along with the district governors, are representatives of both him and me. Therefore, fulfill your assigned responsibilities in the best possible manner.”
He also instructed the deputy district governors to work on educating and guiding the younger generation, adding: “Do not allow your youth to become prey to outsiders.”
The remarks come amid a series of similar meetings and seminars held across various provinces in Afghanistan, where Taliban officials have stressed the implementation of the movement’s supreme leader’s decrees, adherence to his directives, and the enforcement of the group’s administrative policies.
