Taliban Minister of Public Health Noor Jalal Jalali has emphasized the standardization of the traditional and Unani medicine sector during a meeting held in Kabul to assess the activities of the sector.
The Ministry of Public Health stated on Friday (June 19) in a post on X that a special meeting was convened in Kabul to evaluate the performance of traditional and Unani medicine practices and to determine future priorities. The meeting was attended by ministry officials as well as representatives of Unani medicine from both the central administration and the provinces.
During the meeting, Minister Noor Jalal Jalali called on the representatives to fully cooperate in implementing the ministry’s laws, regulations, and guidelines aimed at standardizing traditional medicine. He stressed that coordinated efforts are essential for the effective regulation of the sector, enabling all responsible parties to carry out their duties with integrity and professional commitment.
Jalali also referred to his recent visit to India, where he met with India’s Minister responsible for Traditional Medicine, Ayurveda, and Unani Medicine. He noted that a request had been made for cooperation to support the development of traditional medicine in Afghanistan.
