The Pakistan national football team secured the championship title in the “Diamond Jubilee” tournament after a 2–0 victory over Afghanistan in the final match.
The final was held at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, 20 Jوزا (June), hosted in the Maldives, and ended with Pakistan emerging victorious.
As in their group-stage encounter against Afghanistan, Pakistan opened the scoring in the first half and added a second goal in the closing minutes of the second half during stoppage time.
Prior to the final, Pakistan had also defeated Afghanistan 2–0 in the group stage of the competition.
Pakistan advanced to the final undefeated, maintaining their winning streak to claim the championship trophy. In contrast, Afghanistan reached the final after defeating the Maldives, drawing 0–0 with Bangladesh, and losing to Pakistan in the group stage.
With the conclusion of the tournament, Pakistan were crowned champions of the Diamond Jubilee competition, while Afghanistan finished as runners-up.
