Two documents allegedly belonging to the Taliban’s intelligence agency, obtained by the Kabul Times News agency, have been published. According to the outlet, the confidential documents indicate that a budget was allocated to cover the costs of military operations in the Yiftal-e-Payin and Zebak districts of Badakhshan Province.
According to the contents of the documents, approximately $161,000 USD equivalent to nearly 4 million Afghanis was allocated to cover expenses for several days of military operations in these areas. The published details indicate that the funds were intended to support operational and security activities.
One of the documents includes a list of individuals identified as collaborators or intelligence sources, along with the amounts allegedly paid to them. The second document contains instructions regarding budget expenditures, efforts to gain the cooperation of local individuals, the expansion of intelligence activities, and support for security operations in the Yiftal-e-Payin and Zebak districts.
However, the authenticity of these documents has not been independently verified by any source to date. The Taliban authorities and other official institutions have also not issued any response regarding the contents of the documents or the allegations presented in them as of the time of publication.
The release of these documents comes amid heightened clashes and security tensions in parts of Badakhshan Province. The issue has received significant attention on social media, prompting varied reactions among users and observers.
