Rashid Khan, the Afghanistan national cricket team’s star player, was named Player of the Series following his outstanding performance in the One Day International (ODI) matches against Ireland. He delivered an impressive performance in the three matches he played, taking 12 wickets while conceding just 50 runs, playing a key role in Afghanistan’s success.
Afghanistan and Ireland were scheduled to play a five-match ODI series hosted by Ireland. The first match was abandoned due to rain, while Afghanistan won the remaining four matches. As a result, Afghanistan secured the series 4–0.
Rashid Khan played in the second, third, and fourth matches for Afghanistan, taking 12 wickets across those three games. He conceded only 50 runs during the three matches and, with his highly effective bowling, was one of the main factors behind Afghanistan’s dominance in the series.
Rashid Khan did not play in the fifth match, allowing younger members of Afghanistan’s national team to gain additional playing time and experience. Despite his absence from the final game, his performances in the previous three matches were enough to earn him the Player of the Series award.
Rashid Khan’s outstanding performances once again highlighted his importance to the Afghanistan national team. With 12 wickets for just 50 runs in three matches, he was named Player of the Series in the Afghanistan-Ireland ODI series.
