Police in the Swiss city of Zurich on Sunday arrested three individuals in the Glattbrugg area who are suspected of severely assaulting a 21-year-old Afghan man in Zurich.
According to police information, the incident occurred early in the morning on May 24 in the central “Schiffa” area of Zurich. Reports say that after a verbal argument, the Afghan youth was attacked and suffered multiple head injuries.
Police said the arrested individuals include one 20-year-old and two 21-year-old Swiss citizens.
Zurich city police carried out the initial investigation and later pursued the case jointly with cantonal police and the First Public Prosecutor’s Office of Zurich, which resulted in the arrest of the suspects.
According to police, the exact cause and circumstances of the incident are still under investigation, and the suspects have been handed over to prosecutors dealing with serious violent crimes.
