Ziaullah Hashemi, spokesperson for the Taliban’s Ministry of Higher Education, says that a 14-member high-level delegation, headed by Neda Muhammad Nadim, the Taliban’s Minister of Higher Education, has traveled to the city of Kazan in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia.
According to him, this delegation will participate in the 11th “Russia and the Islamic World” conference, which will be held from May 13 to 15, 2026.
The delegation includes Nooruddin Azizi, Taliban Minister of Industry and Commerce, deputy ministers from the ministries of Finance, Economy, Labor and Social Affairs, Mines and Petroleum, Public Health, and several other Taliban officials. The Taliban ambassador to Moscow and heads of some related departments are also part of the delegation.
Hashemi added that at the request of the Russian side, the first meeting of the Joint Economic and Trade Commission between the Taliban and the Russian Federation will also be held on the sidelines of this conference.
