The Taliban have announced that since the beginning of the public donation collection process in Herat province, more than $650,000 has been collected and sent to the people of Gaza.
Bakhter News Agency, which is under Taliban control, reported on Sunday, 13th of Sawr, that officials overseeing this effort in Herat stated that these donations were provided by the residents of the province.
According to the report, the cash assistance will be distributed in various areas of Gaza, particularly in Rafah.
The Taliban also added that the collection process is ongoing and that people continue to financially support the residents of Gaza.
This comes at a time when Afghanistan itself is facing widespread economic, social, and political crises. The United Nations has also warned that in 2026, a large number of Afghan citizens will require humanitarian assistance.
