The ministry announced in a statement on Thursday, 28 Jawza, that a delegation comprising Atiqullah Azizi, Deputy Minister of Arts and Culture; Mohajer Farahi, Deputy Minister of Publications; Rahmatullah Neriwal, Legal Advisor; Safiullah Raed, Head of Oversight; and Habibullah Ghufran, spokesperson for the Ministry of Information and Culture, visited Mr. Rafie’s residence to welcome his return.

According to the statement, Atiqullah Azizi described Habibullah Rafie as a distinguished researcher of the Pashto language and expressed appreciation for his academic and cultural work. He characterized Mr. Rafie’s contributions in the field of linguistic and historical research as significant.

The Deputy Minister of Arts and Culture also stated that the Ministry of Information and Culture would provide the necessary cooperation and support for the publication and dissemination of Rafie’s works and research.

Habibullah Rafie had migrated to Canada after the Taliban regained power in Afghanistan. He returned to Kabul on Tuesday, 26 Jawza.

Mr. Rafie was a member of the Academy of Sciences of Afghanistan in the previous government and, throughout his career, has conducted extensive research on the Pashto language and the history of Afghanistan.
