Local officials in Uruzgan province say a teenager died by suicide after shooting himself in the city of Tarinkot, the provincial capital, on Monday.
Bilal Rozgani, spokesperson for the Uruzgan police command, said on Tuesday, 27 Asad, that the incident occurred in an area known as Sarkhom in Tarinkot.
According to him, the teenager had a verbal argument with several family members before the incident and subsequently took his own life.
The incident comes amid an increase in reported cases of suicide in parts of Afghanistan in recent years.
