Local sources say that the Taliban briefly detained cricket player Bilal Sami following a dispute but later released him.
According to the information available, Bilal Sami had a verbal argument with another player named Zahid at a cricket academy in Asadabad city. The dispute later escalated into a physical confrontation, during which Zahid was injured.
Sources added that the main cause of the incident was reportedly a disagreement over discipline and rules at the academy.
It is reported that, following Bilal Sami’s release, a local tribal jirga in Asadabad has taken responsibility for mediating between the two sides and is attempting to resolve the matter through dialogue and reconciliation.
