In Paktia and Nangarhar provinces, some university students say that the Taliban have made them sign pledges requiring them to grow beards.
According to the students, these pledges are not limited to beards alone; they also involve commitments related to the enforcement of the Taliban’s approved Amr bil Ma’ruf (Promotion of Virtue) law.
They add that personal appearance and behavior on university campuses have been subjected to increased restrictions, forcing students to act in accordance with these regulations.
