Donald Trump, President of the United States, has announced that the implementation of the “Freedom Project” in the Strait of Hormuz will be temporarily suspended. He made this statement on the social media platform Truth Social, saying that the decision has been made in light of recent developments.
Trump explained that the decision was taken following requests from Pakistan and several other countries, as well as in reference to what he described as a “major military success against the Islamic Republic.” He also mentioned progress toward reaching a comprehensive agreement with Tehran.
According to the U.S. President, under this decision, the maritime blockade will continue, but the implementation of the “Freedom Project” in the Strait of Hormuz will be temporarily paused to allow conditions for further negotiations.
Trump emphasized that the purpose of this short-term pause is to assess the possibility of reaching a final agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran and to determine whether the conditions for signing such an agreement will be met.
