Coinciding with Industry Week, officials from the Herat Chamber of Industries and Mines announced that approximately 165,000 people are employed in more than 1,350 active factories located in the Herat Industrial Park. According to the officials, the industrial park is one of Afghanistan’s largest centers for manufacturing and employment.
The officials also described the Herat Industrial Park as the largest industrial hub in western Afghanistan, stating that it plays a vital role in expanding manufacturing activities, creating job opportunities, and supporting the country’s economic growth.
The Herat Industrial Park is home to hundreds of factories operating in sectors including food processing, beverages, construction materials, pharmaceuticals, textiles, plastics, metal industries, and other manufacturing fields. These factories produce a wide range of goods for both domestic and international markets.
