Narendra Singh Khalsa, former member of the Wolesi Jirga and representative of Afghanistan’s Hindu community, met and held talks with Shahabuddin Delawar, head of the Commission for Contact with Afghan Personalities, following his return from Canada.
According to published information, Khalsa discussed the situation of Afghan Hindus and Sikhs residing in Canada and explored areas of cooperation with Afghanistan during the meeting.
He stated that the Afghan Sikh community in Canada is seeking the construction of a standard hospital in the country and is prepared to finance the project.
Khalsa also noted that 34 Hindu families based in Canada are interested in returning to Afghanistan and have expressed their willingness to resettle in the country.
The meeting also covered topics related to the return of Afghan personalities and citizens living abroad, as well as their potential participation in Afghanistan’s social and development processes.
