Officials from the Department of Public Works have announced that construction work on the second lane of the Maidan Wardak–Logar highway has reached 71 percent completion.
According to information provided by the department, the project includes the construction of 14.1 kilometers of road, passing through the areas of Klangar, Sholak, and Babus in Logar province, and extending to the city of Pul-e-Alam.
This route is considered one of the important connecting roads between Maidan Wardak and Logar provinces and is used daily by a large number of residents for transportation and the movement of commercial goods.
Officials stated that with the completion of the second lane, the traffic capacity of the route will increase, facilitating smoother movement of vehicles.
It is expected that once operational, the project will not only reduce traffic congestion but also play a significant role in improving transportation, enhancing economic activities, and strengthening connectivity between the two provinces.
