Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has announced that a 28-year-old woman gave birth to five babies at Abu Ali Sina Educational and Regional Hospital in Balkh Province in a single delivery.
According to the organization, all five newborns were born prematurely and with low birth weights. With MSF’s support, they were transferred to the hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for specialized care.
Based on the information provided, after nearly eight days of continuous treatment and intensive medical monitoring, the health condition of the newborns gradually improved, and they have now been moved to the regular neonatal ward.
This comes after another woman at Balkh Regional Hospital also gave birth to five babies in a single delivery last month. Of those newborns, three were girls and two were boys.
