Local sources say that Nazim Qasimi, a freelance journalist and a contributor to TOLOnews, was detained by the Taliban’s intelligence authorities in Badakhshan Province on Wednesday (14 Asad).
The Taliban have so far not provided any information regarding the reason for Nazim Qasimi’s arrest, nor have further details about his condition been released.
It also remains unclear where the journalist is currently being held, and it is not known whether his family or legal representative has been granted permission to visit or access him.
