Iranian foreign minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has emphasized expanding relations between Iran and Tajikistan, particularly in the areas of economy, trade, energy, and transportation, during a meeting with a Tajik delegation.
The Tasnim News Agency reported on Saturday, 24 Asad, that Araghchi met with Tajik officials, including Energy and Water Resources Minister Daler Juma, Transport Minister Azim Ibrohim, and Deputy Foreign Minister Farrukh Sharifzoda.
According to the report, Araghchi described Iran and Tajikistan as inheritors of the ancient Persian civilization and emphasized the need to utilize existing capacities to expand economic and trade relations between the two countries.
The Tajik ministers also stressed the expansion of cooperation in the energy and transportation sectors and called for the establishment of a joint working group to implement agreements reached between the two countries.
The two sides discussed ways to strengthen economic, trade, energy, and transportation cooperation. No further details were provided regarding when the joint working group would be established or its specific plans.
