The three-match One Day International (ODI) series between the national cricket teams of Afghanistan and India concluded with a comprehensive victory for the host nation, India. India defeated Afghanistan in all three matches, securing a 3–0 series whitewash.
In the final match, Afghanistan elected to bat first after winning the toss. The Afghan team set a target of 219 runs, thanks to a century (102 runs) by captain Hashmatullah Shahidi and a 50-run contribution from Azmatullah Omarzai.
However, the Indian team chased down the target with ease and precision, losing only one wicket and reaching the total in 28.4 overs, defeating Afghanistan by 9 wickets.
Overall, India dominated the series. They won the second match by a large margin of 170 runs and the first match by 7 wickets. With these results, India won all three matches and completed a clean sweep against Afghanistan.
